Mark Farina Biography
Mark Farina attended Florida State University, on a partial golf scholarship. He became interested in art and it became his major along with a minor in Art History. Mark also spent six months in Florence, Italy studying art history. After graduating he made a livelihood in both golf and commercial art. Locating to the Monterey Peninsula in the early 80's he freelanced as a graphic designer and illustrator. During this period he was also painting in watercolor and oil. Inspired by the spectacular scenery of the Monterey Peninsula he started painting en plein air, or outside on location. This became a passion and eventually fine art painting became his full time vocation.
Mark has participated in numerous prestigious plein air events. His paintings have been juried into national shows across the country. He is also an artist and signature member of many important art associations.
