Gyula Siska is a Hungarian artist.
After finishing high school for art, he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts - studying there painting and restoring. He subsequently worked as a restorer for some years and developed his education by intensive preoccuption with the classic techniques of painting. His expertise in Daguerreotypias and restoration of old photos is now known world-wide.
When the Pope visited Budapest, Siska created an extraordinary work of art together with a sculptor - they made a circular copy of the famous Turino Shroud in a mixed media techinique of bronze casting and photography.
Siska's favorite theme is his masterly paintings of stilllifes.
